WFMW: Easy "Magic Shell" Ice Cream Topping

We could go broke buying Magic Shell ice cream topping this summer! Or, we could just use this recipe:

Easy "Magic Shell" Ice Cream Topping

4 ounces of chocolate chips
3 TB of butter

Melt the chips and butter in a saucepan on the stove top, stirring occasionally. When fully melted and cooled a bit, dish up your ice cream and pour it over the top (repeat this step as often as you wish!). IF you have any leftovers, store them in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.

Plus there is not the extra added crap they put into commercialized products.

Thanks for this recipe!!

I didn't know it was so easy. Thanks!

This is great! I never buy it because of the cost, but my boys would love it! I bought ice cream and cookie mixes the other day to make homemade ice cream sandwiches. The "magic shell" would be a great addition!

Here's a "new" idea to go with the Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread on my recipe blog: use chopped peanuts instead of chopped walnuts. Great flavor! My husband suggested adding a spoonful of peanut butter to the batter next time, too.

Hope you enjoy, Lisa!

And, thanks for the new idea for the bread, Ashley. I'm hoping to make it this weekend!
